Taking Stock: November 2017!

Taking Stock

6 Dec

Taking Stock: November 2017 // Grady Savage // www.gradybirdblog.com

This month was a little crazy in our world, but I truly loved (almost) all of it!

My month started with a birthday celebration with my friend Michela that involved so much delicious food, amazing people, the most hilarious game in the universe, and a BOUNCY HOUSE!!!  It was pretty epic and an awesome way to start the month off right!

Then there was Thanksgiving, which was extra delightful this year for some reason.  We ate good food, of course, but best of all we were able to hang out with both of our families.  Every so often I realize how much of a true blessing it is that Christopher’s and my family live close enough that we can see both sides on the major holidays.  It sometimes feels overwhelming schlepping ourselves back and forth, but in reality it’s one of the coolest things about living where we live – our family is always nearby. <3  This year I was just extra grateful for that.

Shortly after Thanksgiving, I jumped into tech week (AKA the week where you live at the theatre, basically) for the production of A Christmas Carol that I’m stage managing.  Everything is pretty chaotic during this week, but it went really well and we opened with an awesome show this past weekend!  My director Kelsey (who’s amazing) and our phenomenal cast and crew really pulled together and made it happen!  I’m very excited for the coming weeks of performances!

My tech week look 😉

And probably most massively, I announced my 2018 plans on my blog!  (Read that post here)  I’m so grateful for the amazing, positive, encouraging responses I’ve gotten from all of you and I truly can’t thank you enough for your belief in me for this new adventure! I’m super excited for everything 2018 has to bring and I can’t wait for you all to be a part of it!  🙂

Now, let’s take stock!…

(This post contains affiliate links, which means the price of the item won’t change for you, but I receive a small commission of the sale. This helps keep my site up and running. Thanks!)

Making: big life changes!
Cooking: HelloFresh meals all over the place and LOVING IT.  You guys, this program is the real deal!  Maybe I’ll do a full post on them sometime because I truly have loved everything they bring to the table. (bah dum bum CH!)
Drinking: three cups of WATER every day!  Which is a TRIAL, let me tell you, but so far so good!
Reading: Last night I started reading The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy (which was recommended to me by the lovely Jamie Scrimgeour!) and I really like it already. I’ll be sure to report back!
Wanting: to have just a little more free time this month. I’m working on two separate shows and really enjoying both of them, but I put myself in a bit of a crazy situation as far as scheduling goes and I’m definitely starting to feel it!
Looking: forward to a crazy – but wonderful – month ahead.
Playing: Spotify, all day every day!
Wishing: I could take approximately six naps.
Watching: The Office (what else is new?) with the family and I’m kinda freaking out at how close we are to the series finale!
Enjoying: checking things off my To Do list!
Waiting: for time to put my brand new desk together.
Liking: all of the Christmas decorations I’m seeing everywhere. Totally puts me in the spirit!
Wondering: what next month will be like! *Eek!*
Loving: the Christmas cards we ordered!
Hoping: I’m able to keep it together during this crazy season and getting everything done that I need to.
Marveling: at the amazing community I’m surrounded by and a part of.
Needing: nothing, truly.
Smelling: coffee, coffee, coffee! (I know you’re all shocked.)
Wearing: an outfit that makes me look a little bit like Punky Brewster and I’m not sorry.
Noticing: a chill in the air – maybe that means snow is coming soon?!  I’m ready for the first snow of the year, New Hampshire!  Let’s do this.
Knowing: I’m following God’s will for me and it feels AWESOME.
Thinking: of the future with excitement, nerves, and lots of prayers.
Feeling: Amazed. Overwhelmed. Excited!
What about you? How did your November go?
How was your Thanksgiving, if you celebrate?
I’d love to hear about it!

Hi There, I’m Grady!

I'm a wife and stepmama obsessed with dresses, planners, and iced coffees bigger than my head.

I believe that having a happy, healthy stepfamily is not only possible but necessary for stepmom sanity, and I hope to provide a place of support for stepmoms who need to know someone else just
"gets it.”
