January Favorites 2018 // Grady Savage // www.gradybirdblog.com

This month has been full of excitement, adjustments, and lots of busyness – but it’s also been one of my favorite months in a long, long time!  I’m super excited to share with you guys what I’ve been loving this month!

Food & Drinks

-Nothing at this time. (I’ve been drinking A TON more water lately, but I’m not sure that’s a real recommendation for most people 😉 hahaha)

Clothes & Accessories

Amazon Essentials Jacket – During one of amazon’s winter sales, I picked up this jacket for myself (and this one for Jess!) and we’ve been loving them so far!  They’re adorable, comfortable, and they actually fit into a tiny bag that’s included with the jacket, if you want to pack it up and take it somewhere. (I absolutely plan on doing this for my train trip next month!)  Although Jessica wishes hers had a hood, she really likes it otherwise, and it’s been pretty durable so far.  Although the deal is over, so they’re back to normal price, if you’re in the market for a new, cute coat and you spot this guy on sale you should absolutely go for it!

Travel Wallet – Even though it’s technically a travel wallet, I’ve been using this wallet daily for about a month now (I don’t like switching things out right before a trip because I don’t like feeling discombobulated when my routine is already super altered) and I’ve really been liking it.  It’s going to be perfect for my upcoming travel needs, but it’s also really thin and cute and practical for day-to-day use here in New Hampshire.  I’m very pleased!  (Warning: I chose the Quartz Pink color and it’s definitely a little more salmon-toned than baby pink in person.  I don’t hate it, it’s just not what I was picturing.  Just a heads up!)

Home & Lifestyle

Tablet Stand – Another lightning deal from amazon, this tablet stand is just PERFECT for my needs.  I have both an ipad and a kindle and this thing is works great for both.  It’s awesome for throwing on the kitchen island with a recipe or a trash tv show to have on while I’m cooking.  It’s really good quality and I’m really happy to have it.  Tablet stands were something I thought were kind of excessive and unnecessary before, but I’m actually thrilled I decided to give it a try!

Essential oils – Y’all, I’m totally on the essential oils bandwagon!   I’m a staunch believer in science and modern medicine, so let’s start there, but DANG if I haven’t seen some great results from using essential oils alongside their modern alternatives.  Although I’m farrrrr from an expert, but I’ve been learning and using them more and more and I’m just loving it so far!  Do you use EOs too?  I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Fun & Games

Fog of Love board game – Christopher got this super awesome (two-player!) board game as a Christmas present from his dad and we just love it!  It’s described as “a romantic comedy in board game form” and it’s been a total blast to learn and play together.  This is by no means a game only for couples – you could easily play it when friends of all genders and have a great time.  It’s on the pricier side as far as board games go, but we have found it to be totally worth the price, especially for a game that doesn’t require any other players to join us!

Seeking Sister Wife – YOU GUYS.  This is a new edition to this post, but I HAD to include it. (Shoutout to my friend Blair for recommending this hilarious, ridiculous show to me).  If you like Sister Wives you will be totally enthralled with the craziness that is “Seeking Sister Wife.”  I’m only two episodes in but I’m already committed to this madness.

Priceless  & Treasured

Working from Home – Working from home this entire past month has been beyond my wildest dreams, truly.  I feel so much more relaxed, our home is more put together than ever, and – best of all – I get to spend lots more one-on-one time with Jess, since she comes right home after school and we get a few hours together before Christopher gets home.  I was pretty sure I’d love working from home, but it really has been the absolute greatest thing and I still kinda can’t believe it’s my life!!

Reading – I’ve been reading SO much more lately (check out my 2018 reading goals here) and it’s been truly wonderful.  Although I’m still not quite where I should be for my Reading Challenge, I am already finding myself reaching for a book instead of my phone, and I consider that a win in itself!

Have you found any new, awesome things this month?  I’d love to hear about them!

Hi There, I’m Grady!

I'm a wife and stepmama obsessed with dresses, planners, and iced coffees bigger than my head.

I believe that having a happy, healthy stepfamily is not only possible but necessary for stepmom sanity, and I hope to provide a place of support for stepmoms who need to know someone else just
"gets it.”
